Once each month, with donations from people like you, we stuff re-usable mini backpacks with comfort items such as food, toiletries, a washcloth and face towel, fresh clean socks, and many other useful items. These Care Packs are then given directly to homeless people in the Washington DC area.
Please join us in giving a little bit of comfort to homeless people. I can tell you, as one that once was homeless, a little kindness like a gift of one of these Care Packs goes a long way with the people that receive them. In addition to meeting a need for things like a clean pair of socks, Care Packs give our friends on the street some hope that there are people who care about them.

All donations are tax deductible. We accept donations of the following items: socks, gloves, scarves, warm hats, face towels, washcloths, toothbrushs with plastic travel containers, bar soap with plastic travel containers, toothpaste, shampoo, skin lotion, disposable razors, shaving creme, pads for the women, small flashlights, pop-top can food, oatmeal and soup packets, soft-type granola bars, peanut butter and jelly, coffee, tea and hot chocolate, sweetener and cream packets, other easy to open, non-perishable food, plastic eating utensils, writing utensils, notebooks. Usually, once per month, a group of volunteers gather and assemble the care packs. We also have many other volunteer opportunities. To join us or for more information, please contact us.
